Date: October 27, 2013
Location: Angel Island State Park, San Francisco Bay Area, CA
Having flown into the Bay Area from Madison for the second leg of a business trip on Saturday, I had Sunday free, and decided to take the ferry to Angel Island and spend a few hours there. While it was chilly and foggy when I boarded the ferry at 11:20 a.m. at the SF Ferry Building, it started to clear up after we departed from the Pier 41 stop, and the weather was perfect by the time the ferry got to Angel Island. The hike up Mt. Livermore (788ft) was easy except for some strenuous stairs at the very beginning (I took the North Ridge Trail up and the Sunset Trail down) and afforded wonderful panoramic views. The three hours I spent on the island were indeed very well-spent.
