Cadillac Mountain

Hike Date: September 21, 2010

Hike Difficulty: Strenuous. The West Face Trail portion of the hike involves a fair amount of clambering over rocks.

Hike Rating (Scenic Views and/or interesting terrain/vegetation): A+

I did this hike with a group of colleagues during an offsite trip to Acadia. We started from the Bubble Pond parking lot at Acadia National Park with a steep climb up the Cadillac West Face Trail till we arrived at a fork and switched to the South Ridge Trail, following it up to the summit. On the way back, we followed the South Ridge Trail down, past the fork, and up to the pond known as the Featherbed. Near the Featherbed is another fork; switched to the Jordan Pond Trail here for a rugged descent till it intersects with a carriage road that runs along Bubble Pond. We switched to the carriage road here and walked along Bubble Pond back to the parking lot.
