This is the third of a series of posts detailing hikes and walks I undertook in the course of a road trip in July 2016 that spanned 9 days and 3 states: CA, OR and NV (the last very transiently).
Date: July 3, 2016
Location: Crater Lake National Park, OR
After a slightly disappointing, albeit very scenic Sunday morning, in which I hiked partway up Garfield Peak before being thwarted by a slippery snowbank, I had lunch at the Lodge, and then headed out for the Rim Drive. Being July 4 weekend, there was a veritable traffic jam, in the parking lot and on the road itself, making it somewhat stressful. However, I still managed to stop at several viewpoints, and do short scrambles at some of them.
