Travertine Hot Springs

This is the fifth of a series of posts on hikes and strolls undertaken during a 5-day CA road trip.

Date: September 3, 2017

Location: Bridgeport, CA

I started out from Bridgeport on Sunday morning with the plan of visiting Bodie and then crossing back West over Tioga Pass. However, having read that there was a geothermal feature just off US-395 a couple of miles south of Bridgeport, I thought I'd stop there on the way - expecting something interesting like Hot Creek.

The approach to the springs is over a mile long mildly washboarded dirt road. The springs themselves were a disappointment since they seemed completely dry. I strolled over the interestingly-shaped rocks for a bit, and then headed on.
